Broken Sliding Closet Door Strike Plate of Camelot 2007 40PDQ

Does anyone here know where I can buy a closet sliding door strike plate for 2007 Monaco Camelot 40PDQ? I broke mine and I would like to replace them. I checked with Home Depot and Lowes, but they don't carry that type of strike plate.

Thanks....

Darn things don't hold up well. Someone will have the part number for sure.

Put your search request into the little box as shown in the picture and you will come up with pages.

I'm not trying to send you away, just saying welcome to a newcomer that might not have found that little search feature. It is a bit strange to have two search setups but this one works very well.

I use the plastic latch shown on Amazon and have had great luck with it since changing out our last latches. It is just too easy to miss getting them latched and they slam shut and you need a new one.

"Check Closet Doors" is on my check list.

Northwest RV Supply has them. Search for part #H-143A (9000 series closet catch kit).

Also, after I replaced them the first time and broke them again, I also replaced the little rollers at the top of the closet door; mine were really worn and the door needed adjusting. You can find the rollers at any Ace Hardware (or probably any big box) labeled as shower door rollers. Be sure and take one with you; there are several sizes and shapes…

Since doing that I haven’t broken any more latches. (Fingers crossed)

Hope that helps!

I replaced one of those with a spare the original owner left in the coach.

Wife broke it first time she tried locking the door !

I made a pair out of some oak I had laying around, got close to matching with cherrywood stain, and never looked back!

The alignment of the door with the catch has to be nearly perfect or the catch breaks. The top of our door would bend slightly and throw the alignment off. I added fender washers to all of our rollers several years ago to reinforce the aluminum. I haven't had anymore problems.

They have a metal backing strip that goes over the plastic latch. They only have 1 screw in these. I put a screw on both sides and it can not brake again. When I get to my coach next week I will take a picture.

These latches are available from Northwest RV Supply. I replaced one of mine last Nov and this is the one that I replaced it with, $7.95 ea. I ordered a couple of spares at the time anticipating needing another sometime soon.......

If it's plastic, or less than 18ga metal, my wife can break it !
