Camco cyclone roof vent

Does anyone have any first hand knowledge of this device. Had one given to me and was going to replace the black tank vent on the roof with this? Also, which vent is the black vent cap, I have an 05 Neptune. There are two about 6 inches apart. I am assuming the one close to the road (drivers side) is the black since it is above the toilet, and the other is the grey (on the other side of the MH)? Thanks

I'll double check , but I think that's the name on the one I installed.
Swivel , finned , looks like an outboard engine leg , without the prop.
Works fine , only issue is with the plastic UV stabilization, it yellowed in a year.
To check for the correct vent, have someone dump a full bowl of water down the toilet, while your on the roof listening.

The other way to figure out which vent is which is to dump some food coloring down one of the vents. You have to remove the cap anyway to install new Cyclone cap, you have a 50-50 chance to guess it right. (in my case, 100% chance wrong first time more likely) Then dump tanks and look for the pretty color.

I only have one vent on my 2001 diplomat. But if I had 2 vents like you, I'd put one vent cyclone on each vent.
They keep the odors down wind.

We bought them and installed them and then a week later took them off and put the old back on. They made it smell and the old does not. So now we have 2 of them sitting here taking up room.

You could always sniff the pipes, just don't let anyone see you, and don't tell anyone.

If everything in your sewer drain/vent system is sealing and working properly those Cyclone vent caps are a waste of money, (in your case installing it would be a waste of time).
If you have "tank odor" inside your RV use the time to fix whatever is wrong/broken.

I would use these: 360 Products Inc There are no moving parts. Some rv manufacturers are putting them on new units.

The 360 products vent and the Cyclone vent both have addressed the issue of creating negative pressure on the vent to assure the fumes escape out the vent and not back into the RV.
The short height of the vent doesn't always create enough negative pressure to counter act the negative pressure of an open roof vent or window downwind. Your system doesn't need to be leaking or malfunctioning to allow smells back into the bathroom when flushing the toilet. I've tried the Cyclone but prefer the 360 vent since it's shorter and uses good design instead of a wind vane. We learned early on not to turn on the bathroom vent before flushing the toilet!

I installed one on my black tank and still had smells so I installed on Grey as well. No more smells inside the RV while driving.

That, and keeping the gray and black drain system, (seals, pipes, p-traps, air admittance valves and the original roof vents), working, is the key to preventing tank odor from entering a RV.
Gizmos added to the plumbing vents only benefit the makers/sellers of RV gizmos and gadgets, (and waste $$).

I assure you that all the cheater vents and plumbing is correct. When flushing the toilet, a 2 1/2" opening directly into my black tank is created for the few seconds the bowl is being drained. ANY negative pressure by windows, fans, etc, can cause odors to come back up into the bathroom. A device adding air flow up the vent, thus down into the open toilet, isn't a money waste to me, but a addition I enjoy, like many of the other things we all add to our RV for comfort.
