That's great fastcat. I wonder if Chad got his yet. I am still waiting on my awning fabric to come in. They will put my new motor in at no extra labor cost since I think it has to come out anyway to put the fabric in.

Arby, no haven't received it yet. The lady lost my email and they are gonna pay 2 day air shipping so I do not miss my trip. That was very nice of them even though they lost my info.

Update guys. Finally received the new part about 4 last friday. Installed it quickly and headed out on trip. Wasn't sure it was gonna make it but it did. Only held us up about an hour or two.
Thanks to everyone for the help in receiving a free fix. Otherwise I would have probably just bought one not knowing carefree would help. Safe travels

Free is a very good price. I was ready to purchase a new one until I saw this thread.

Did the roll pin fix on my old one so I now have a spare.

Were you in Montana that year too? Ours came out in a 40 mph headwind while we were going east. 3 hours in the first off ramp I could find (thank goodness for the extend-a-ladder) and several cursings from the copilot, I had it secured enough to get back to NC. Warranty covered the repair and improvement to 2 flat drive. Thanks to Howard RV service people for taking care of that one.

Thankfully mine did not come out while in travel. One of the other posters on here did and he had to cut his fabric off. I'm sure that was a scary feeling when it happened. Luckily in saw mine after a short trip and the shaft would spin but not real freely. I guess it had just started stripping and was enough to just be loose. The winds was very light the day we came in also. For one time luck was on my side.
