Ceiling detail?????

We have a Camelot and would like to add the ceiling detail that is found in some of the higher end models. I know I can build it but would rather buy it and just have to do the install . I am talking about the wood designs with mirrors and lights in them that is over the living/kitchen area.

Thanks!!!

zman62, there are a couple of web site (google RV renavations) and take a look around. I am sure one of them can help you out with your project. You may also contact Monaco and see if they will sell you one. I thank the Camalots had them in 2010 but I am just not sure. They may have some lying around Good luck and keep us posted.

Thanks for the input. I am probably over thinking this. I just think the ceiling is very plain. This will end up being one of the projects where I ask myself why did I mess with this....

I've been thinking of doing the same thing myself for my 2004 Monaco Knight. My initial thought was that I'd find the material I needed at an RV graveyard/junkyard but I'm thinking that the kind of damage that would bring a motorhome there would probably be fire damage and so the ceiling material would be fouled. However, I'm holding on to the idea until I'm sure. In the meantime, I guess the choices are to buy or fabricate. I'm wishing you luck in this and I'll be watching this thread for a revelation.

I would start with one of those companies that "upgrade" SUVs and pickups. They do a lot with lighting and wood.

Here's a company that can do the work for you... They do great work at a reasonable price, and so far I've been very happy with everything that they've done for me... Home Page

Road Ranger - Many, many mohos end up in the bone yard due to crashes.... Most slavage yards post pics, Google and take a look... You might find just what you need (and all the little piece-parts needed to install it)....

Anyone know of a good wrecking yard that may have some newer coaches?

That awful ceiling treatment is one of the reasons the higher end rigs turn us off. We walk into some of the rigs and the mirrors on the ceiling make us want to turn around and walk out. If we were going to order another MH built we'd delete the roof "garnish"
Yes, I know it's one place they can upgrade easily but it's just not our style.
