Cell phone antenna

So, the manual says there is a cell phone ant, with the wire coiled under the dash access driver's side. How does this work? Is there a plug on it? I saw a wire that had a closed end made that way. I tried my cell laying on the dash and it was no better than anywhere else.

Back in the day , cell phones had a plug for an external antenna ; why they quit making them that way is anybody's guess.
Your cell antenna is probably a Wilson item , as is the one on my Newmar , the existing cable would have a threaded end similar to a small coax , that would require an adapter to the cell phone . My last phone had no antenna port but Wilson had a pad available to Velcro to the phone that worked well ; for that phone ( 3G I believe ).
Verizon no longer supports that phone and I have no Idea if the pad will help reception on any 4/5G smart phones.

I still use mine as a roof top antenna connection for my Wilson Verizon 4G Sleek. It greatly improves getting the phone signal out of and into the RV.
Sometimes makes the difference between data or no data.

Doesn't sound like I'm going to be able to use it. Thanks anyway, at least I now know what it is.
