Change in tire size

Have 03 Holiday Rambler Ambassador 38' PST with original tire size 255-70-22.5. Because of recent front tire blowout want to go to 275-70-22.5. Anyone out there with same coach do this without clearance problem? Have contacted Monaco Tech Support and get the "deer in the headlight" answer when hunting for info. Any help will be appreciated.

Rather than messing with size, I would first focus on load range. If the current is a load range G (14 ply?) I would got with the same size tire in a load range H (16 ply). With G's I would have more coach capacity than tires. With H's, I have more tire capacity than the coach is rated for.

Can't answer specifically to your coach, but I know of several owners who have made the 255 to 275 swap successfully. Everyone has been real pleased with the swap. Check out this thread. http://www.irv2.com/forums/f115/chan...ze-159016.html

(AF Chap, I have seen no options on load range on the 255's, regardless of mfgr.)

Thanks for response....however, I do know the load range of my tires 255-70-22.5 are load range H (16ply), and that is the reason I am looking to go up a size. The 255 has max 5510 at 120psi and the 275 goes up to 6610 on most good tires at 120psi. My coach calls for 110psi on tire sticker info in coach. Many who can go up can run at lower psi, improved ride and handling according to many.

Thanks,
Kent

I changed 255's to 275's on a 99 dip 38a no issues at all, other than the speedo was 2 mph slower than the 255's, I changed all 6 tires, better ride, better load capacity, better handling, it's a no brainer.
