Change steering box

I have a 2012 Monaco Knight 36PFT I have a shepherd steering box numbers on box sticker 27000013, HD94P031, 11J03487. The # on the box is 7880SY017167168027. I have a lot of play in the steering wheel. I want to change to a TRW box . I saw a thread a while ago that dealt with the the the subject and the TRW direct replacement for the Shepherd box . I could use a little help either finding the thread or any information that can help. Thanks

I got plenty of results when I put “replaced trw” in the search box above with IRV2.com selected, not Google.
This post is my opinion, worth what you paid for it.

This is most likely it: https://www.irv2.com/forums/f115/ste...10152-111.html You sure the play is in the box. Have you checked wheel bearings, tie rod ends and the u-joint on the steering wheel shaft under the steering column? Many people who have done this replacement don't experience huge results. Just saying.

Here is the link to the two long long threads. Breeze through them and you will find several detailed explanations and instructions. Including one rather crude one by me. Did it by myself with just a small amount of help getting it out of the truck.

Two people would be much easier.

I posted this yesterday but it went off into space somewhere, sorry.
