Changing from single to double steps

Just picked up a new to us, 2008 Monaco LaPalma that has a single power step. Guess whoever put it in didn't want to spring for the extra cost of the double step the MH origionally came with.

Question--can I purchase a double step assy. , less motor, and just put the motor on the double step assy.? Or do I need to purchase the whole double step assy.?

Thanks

I'll be following this.
Dealer was supposed to replace the double step on ours when we bought it (have pictures with it on but not working). Instead they cheaped out (again) and put on a single step. We really didn't notice at first, but there is usually an extra long step to get to the ground.

DW is asking for a double step.

We had to replace the steps (don't ask on our first MH before the buyer would take possession and found at the time PPL Motorhomes had the best price. Maybe took 30 minutes to unbolt the old steps and install the new--plug and play.

The control board measures current of the motor to determine if the steps have completed travel. I would be apprehensive to just change add parts. Your step may prematurely stop due to the additional load of the step and motor.
