Chassis batteries question

Am I right in thinking my chassis batteries only charge as I drive down the road with the 200 amp alternator on the ISL? They DO NOT receive a charge when plugged into 30 or 50 amp shore power.

Your inverter should be charging them with shore power

My 2002 is being charged with the inverter. I would think yours is also.

The inverter only charges the house batteries. Unless you have some type of system
that charges the house batteries you won't get them charged.

My coach came that way. I had to add an echo charger so when on shore power, the chassis batteries would stay charged.

Our 2004 Camelot did NOT charge chassis batteries on shore power. I added a Blue Sea ARC relay so it would charge all the time. It also ties all the batteries together when dry camping and seperates the chassis batteries from the house batteries when the batteries are at 65%. We do not dry camp but sometimes will park for an extended amount of time.

Thank you all for the input. I will add a battery tender in the battery compartment.

That is the simplest fix and what I did on our 06 Diplomat.
