Chassis Battery Replacement - 07 42PDQ

I have come to the conclusion that the chassis batteries on my Camelot need to be changed. (batteries are 3 years old, deteriorating situation, gauge indicates alternator is charging) I am going with the group 31 with correct CCA as in the owner's manual but am wondering if there is anything I need to do other than complete what appears to be a straight forward swap. I intend to turn both battery switches to off position.

I am looking to replace my original chassis batteries in the next year or sooner if they go bad. My coach was sold new in October of 2002. they are Interstate maint. free, and have always had a battery maintainer hooked up to them.(maintainer has gone bad and replaced but batteries are still good) I just replaced the house batteries last fall. It seems to be pretty straight foward and will probably go to Costco again. Their batteries are made by Interstate but if any trouble you need to return to Costco.
Good luck,
John G.

I too am new to Monaco. Do you need to shut off the solar charger before you disconnect the chassis battery?

I don't have a solar charger, but yes I would turn it off when installing batteries.

Yes, I would disconnect the solar charger. Your coach may be different but I have 2 fuses that are associated with the solar charger. They are both labeled and located in the #1 passenger side electrical run bay at the rear of the coach.

I found this out when I was changing my alternator. I disconnected the chassis battery but still had voltage. Only after pulling both fuses did the I get "0" volts back feeding.
