Howdy -
I have been sitting for a little over a month now. Started up the rig a few moments ago, and am getting a Check Engine light, along with an Alt. Charge light on the dash, along with three fast beeps from the warning chime. I needed to use the battery boost to start, which has never happened before.

I am looking in the manual for clues, but does anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks -

kevin

After it ran a bit, both warning lights went out and the chime stopped. Must be the low battery status causes those events.

Crisis averted

Happycars, says that the Alt. bearings due to heat sometimes go at 20k......maybe something to watch for.

Kev,

Time for an Echo Charger or the Trik-L-Charge.

Same thing happened to us shortly after we got our coach. The only problem was the battery boost switch didn't work. Turned out the fuse has been installed such that only one of the contacts was inserted. Monaco paid for the service call. I immediatedly ordered and installed a Trik-L-Charge.

See, it could have been worse.

Dang. I was trying to tell Angie that the way to fix this was to not be in one place so darned long!! I like that solution, but will now probably heed the advice on the Echo Charger. I have read much about it, and all of the recommendations here should have made me get one already.

Question: if the battery boost works, what is the advantage of the charger? Does it just increase battery life by not letting it drain all the way down?

Bob - thanks for that reply. Makes me want to hunt for that fuse, just in case I have an issue with the Boost before adding the charger. Didn't think about that.

Thanks for the suggestion/reminders

Kev.
Do you happen to have a solar panel? I do and originally it is connected to charge the house batteries. Since we were staying plugged in and didn't need to charge those batteries I put in a double pole double throw switch so I could connect the panel to either house or chassis batteries. We have now been parked for a couple of months and no problem starting the engine.
