Clorox to water system??
Before I screw up, I need to know what you think. I have a 2005 rig that I bought used. I found out the other day it never had water filters installed in the canisters and one of them was "mungie" looking with "slimy stuff on the walls of the canister." I cleaned up before installing new filters.
Question: What if I disconnected the water hose at the input bib, drained some water out of the hose, added a half cup of Clorox to the hose, then reconnected, turned on the water and now I have disinfected the entire system, filters and all??? What do ya think? Sometimes I'm own worst enemy.

A half cup plain generic bleach is good for about 30 gallons dilution. The key is that you can smell it at every faucet when you run the water through, both hot and cold. Let it sit for an hour or so and then rinse it out. Chlorine attacks plastic plumbing parts over time.
Take apart any filters and manually clean them if you can.
The general advice is to fill your fresh water tank with a quarter cup plain generic bleach to 15 gallons of water and then use the pump to circulate the solution through the plumbing. That disinfects the tank and the pump as well as the pipes and faucets. Again, let sit for an hour or so and then rinse well.

Larry.....I think you're fine, but I would remove the filters. They may retain the chlorine.

I take it that you are hooked up to "city water connection". What I would do is put 4 oz of clorox in the holding tank through the gravity fill, add some water and run that through the system and all will be sanitized including the pump and tank.

Oh Dang, just forgot about my Aqua Hot system. I could add Clorox to the fresh tank water system. I did the Clorox to the fresh water tank on my old Camelot, had Clorox smell for a long time. Maybe not a good idea to try to disenfect all the "City Water" lines with Clorox. Maybe I'm over thinking this and should just leave it alone.

Larry.....Just add some to the fresh water tank.....turn the pump on with cold water only. Let it run for a few minutes and then drain the fresh water tank from the big drain valve.

Mr. Mike. Thanks for the web site. That is right from the source.
I am sure gald to have you guys for information. Like always better to ask than to screw up big time. I have been RVing full time for about 6 years now and still feel like a novice in many ways. Thanks guys!!

I am a newbie. Where is the gravity fill? I only can find the city water connection. My guess is that I could put a 1/2 cup bleach in the hose before hooking it up to the city connection but is there another option?
thanks in advance for any help.

It varies a lot by model and year. Borrowing a photo posted on the modifications thread by GoneFishin:
My water bay looks much like this. The gravity fill is at the far left end of the white panel. On the top of the protruding plastic is a cap (just below the gas strut in the picture) which if you twist off you will see the hose leading to the tank.
The location and style can vary, or you might not even have one. But if you do, it will be very near the water tank, and slightly above it.

Pat, I think the Dynasty does not have the fresh water fill device , so you may have to add bleech to the water hose.
