Controller for Lippert Leveling System

Received some unexpected news today......had my coach in to repair the reservoir for my hydraulic leveling system. (Noticed a slow drip when the coach was sitting in the driveway) Turns out the tank was cracked and they were able to weld the crack to fix the leak. Appears when Monaco installed the tank, they only installed four bolts to hold it in place. The weight of the hydraulic fluid and rough roads apparently caused the crack? At least that is what my mechanic believes. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

More importantly, the mechanic contacted me today to let me know the controller (located in the basement) for the leveling system needed replaced. The decision was made after he spent considerable time on the phone with a Lippert service tech. I was concerned because the leveling system worked fine during our last outing (about 3 months ago). How could it go out when not in use???

According to Lippert and the mechanic, they said when it comes to electronic systems, many things can happen (diodes go out, moisture, etc) even when not in use. Is this possible? I guess I have always believed that if it worked when I put it away, it should still work when I use it again? In the case of my Lippert Automatic Leveling System, this does not appear to be the case? Hoping to get some great advice here!

Thanks so much,

When I was in the Navy we could go 9 months, at Sea, without a casualty. We would return to port, take a few weeks off and get ready to get underway again. Half the ship would be broke! It would take two weeks or more to get everything fixed. Darn gremlins can't get in a working circuit. They wait until the power is off and then play havoc!!
