Cord Reel

The electric cord reel on my 2005 Dynasty pulls the cord in but several times during the retraction the cord stops even though the reel motor runs continuously. I have to give the cord a push in to get it started again. Seems to be stopping more often than in the past. Looking for insight on the cause and cure. Thanks.

There was a guy named Joe that belonged to IRV2 a few years ago .
I' haven't seen any of his posts lately, so not sure if he's still active.
He has a 3D printer and was making replacement gears for 1 of the reel. I replaced mine a few years ago with no issues since.

You might email him and see if he's still doing it. You'll probably need to know the reel manufacturer.

Assuming a Glendening coiling into the can and you are using the mouse hole that is just the way it is. Just give s push and it will go.

Glendinning? There should be a friction adjustment to cure that. I just adjusted my Glendinning. There is a plastic knob for the adjustment on mine.

They have updated the plastic rollers that drive the cable. I put new gears in mine as well but the old ones were fine. The adjustment did nothing to help mine. It's a 2004.

If my cord is clean, mine works great, but if it is dirty it will slip, so I always wipe it clean first.

That's been my experience. When the coach has been sitting I wipe down the cord with a damp rag before feeding it in.
Cheers,
Walter

It sounds like you have the Glendinning reel like mine. The reel just squeezes the cable to pull it in. As others have said, the pressure is adjustable. Mine is accessible through an opening on the side of the box. I can easily get to it through the engine compartment.
