Crack in our plastic shower pan

My husband and I just bought a 2009 monaco monarch. We haven't used it yet, due to the weather. We did our walk through and everything was fine. Today we noticed that there is a two inch crack in the shower pan. We have the extended warranty, but we just took it home last week. We are thinking that we might have to file a claim to our extended warranty through good sams to fix it. Any suggestions?

Thanks, we did that when we looked at the coach three times before we bought it. We even did it for the walk through. The coCh had to go to their body shop for a paint touch up and we took it home last week. We noticed today that it was cracked.

How long between when you did the walk through & you noticing the crack? If you had a severe cold snap then a quick warm up (even being in the sun will do it) between that time, it could easily have caused the crack. Our shower wall cracked about 5 inches down from a screwhead last winter after a sub zero spell.

It's repairable. Check your warranty for exclusions as this may not be a covered item.

Probably about two weeks. It was quite cold and then warmed up for a few days. We were thinking about trying to fix it on our own first. Any suggestions? We checked the warranty and it covers the shower pan.

I would not attempt to repair if wanting to claim under the warranty if that fails. The warranty co could deny the claim if any other problems are created by the repair. There could also be some hidden support issues below the plastic, and that too must be corrected.

If under warranty let them fix it. If you repair it yourself, you have to put more support under the shower pan where the cracks are. If you can reach the area from the inspection opening use double fiberglass matting to strengthen the area and then put more support 2x4 preferred in that area. Use some thin epoxy to fill the cracks in the tub after fiberglassing.

Check the time constraints on you warranty. On mine there is a 30 day from date of purchase clause. I am having some radiator issues and the warranty folks are making me jump thru hoops big time. Good luck!
