Thumbs down Cruise conrol and engine brake

The cruise control on my new Executive will not engage while the engine brake switch is on. This is different from how my 08 Camelot and 07 Vectra operated. Is this normal for the ISX 650 or is something hooked up incorrectly?

D- I believe that is programmable, i.e. you have choices, tho I haven't heard of this particular permutation. CC can work with Jake (i.e. incorporate Jake in speed control when jake switched on) or can disable jake (i.e. CC ignores Jake when jake is switched on). Makes sense for a setting where Jake-On overrides CC. I prefer the first w/CC incorporating Jake as my default. A Cummins shop or anybody w/Cummins Insite software setup should be able to set this option for you, and you should be able to verify whether there is any truth to what I'm saying w/a phone call to your local rep.

dlovitt.....Your Camelot most likely had an exhaust brake and the Executive SHOULD have an engine brake. The cruise control issue with the EXHAUST brake became programmable in 2006 or 2007. This was when they made the two work together. Before that you had to add a Brake Switch.

I'm guessing your engine brake is a whole different animal. Hopefully someone with an engine brake will jump in here and can tell you what the programming is.
