Cummins 8.3 belt

I want to replace the main engine belt on my 2000 Diplomat 40pbd. Has anyone done this project here. It would be easier to have it done by a shop but I want to learn as much as possible on the function of the coach. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Draw a diagram (or take pic of it) of the belt routing if your RV doesn't have a decal of it Before you rremove the old one.
I replaced mine myself on my Vehicle.(front engine + tilt hood = easy) I'd Keep the old one on board as a spare.

We have an ISC with side radiator, took more time to find the correct wrench for the over the road air con pump than to change the serpentine belt, or about 10 min. I also kept the old, but still good, belt for a spare.

Rocky, I have a 2001 Diplomat and I replaced both of my belts when I replaced the alternator. You have to take the access hatch out in the floor of the closet to replace these belts. I have a 330 ISC and the way mine is set up you have to remove the A/C belt to replace the serpentine belt. The belt I removed looked great but the vee belt on the A/C was not in very good shape. I used a 1/2" breaker bar with a short extension to get the tension off the serpentine belt and it took some time to get the belt over the fan but I did not think it was a hard job. I did this alone but if you have someone to help with the tensioner it would be much easier. I used Dayton belts and the belt numbers were on the build sheet for my coach. The build sheet listed a Cummin's number for the serpentine belt but I was able to cross reference it to a Dayton number. Good luck, George

don't know how many belts you have. i've got 2. but i'd replace all your belts at the same time and forget about them. yes save the belts. my thoughts are when i replace one hose i replace all of them.
