Cummins Code Analyzer

Have a 2002 Cayman with Cummins Diesel and looking for a code reader to use with the diagnostic port to read codes and such when warning lights come on. Anyone know of an inexpensive one that works well?
Appreciate any feedback.

Hi Skinr1; I don't have all the info but you might try Amazon. You need a J something plug to hook up to the coaches diagnostic plug. In Amazon you need to look for a truck, over the road truck type reader. Can't remember price but comes with different cords/plugs for chassis' like yours. I am sure someone here has more info.

Thanks Burner.
I called a shop a friend of mine uses and they gave me a couple of options of scanners they have on hand and use. Found a similar unit on Amazon and ordered it. Wasn't to expensive and says I can return if it doesn't fit my need. Will find out tomorrow evening.

Good evening Skinr1; That's great. Let us know what you got and if it fit the need you were looking for. Glad it didn't cost you an arm and a leg!

This is the one I picked up.

I’m on a trip from Bay City TX to Kentucky right now and this little inexpensive diagnostic tool is really nice for the $110 price. Totally exceeds my expectations. Will read thorn codes, clear them, and will let you scroll thru numerous diagnostic points will running down the road live. Great for checking trans temp and intake temperatures vs coolant temperatures. Wasn’t sure what to expect but it’s doing what I wanted and some more. Good tool for the toolbox.
