When were the fuel filter(s) last changed? Relatively cheap to try.

Hi Johnny. I think your Knight is an ISC. Check to see if there is black smoke from your exhaust. If so, check your charge air cooler and the 3-4" connections to see if they are clean and tight. You will access these through the bedroom floor.

Is your boost PSI within its normal range?

I get about 25 PSI boost on my ISC. I had a throttle position sensor (it's attached to you throttle pedal) go bad and the symptom is no acceleration with the pedal (only idles), but the cruise will control acceleration and deceleration. It would just randomly happen while driving down the road. The first time I just coasted to the side of the road, but I found out I could still control the throttle with cruise. In my case, I could turn off the engine and it would go back to normal for awhile. You need to pull codes to see if you have an issue that the ECM identified.

If the problem is associated with the accelerator pedal, it wouldn't be with the pedal itself, but would be the accelerator pedal position sensor. Possible, but unlikely. You say you have replaced the filters. Does that include the 104 micron in-line fuel filter you might have? Look on the inside of the passenger frame rail, just above the right rear air bag. The filter is about 2" in diameter and about 4" long and is attached to the frame. This fuel filter is often overlooked and can severely restrict fuel flow to the point of stalling the engine.

i don't have any ECM codes, i will check the 104 micron filter, but i don't seem to have a fuel flow problem, runs ok on flat road, only when i first start off.

Me 8.3C will get up around 30-40 PSI under full throttle. Your symptoms sound like a lack of boost. I had a boot blow off the other day that did the same thing. I've also had the linkage for the wastegate fall off and stick it wide open, and another time my boost line that tells the fuel pump when to add fuel had came unhooked. All of these issues caused the same symptoms.

Are you sure your fuel gauge is correct, or could be picking up particles from fuel tank when going up hill??

What does your boost gauge look like? Mine maxes out at what is proably 35 PSI, the last number is 30 on mine.
