Its like a house, a car, a boat or an airplane. None are maintenance free. Where do you have fun doing? My money goes to fun. My RV.

Its not an ever ending battle, its what you do with yourself.

I can repair it myself, I just repaired the sliding pane in the window a few years ago. Now the stationary panes are fogging up. I guess I should have taken all three panes out and rebuilt them at that time. I know I can do it a lot cheaper than sending them off to anyone to do it.

Just purchased a 2007 Safari Simba DP. Had mouse issues. Mice only ate up about every connection/wire in the ceiling. No radio, AC didn't work, bathroom vent fan didn't work, several lights didn't work, etc. The list is never ending. Got most fixed, but I know I will find more. But believe it or not, the coach doesn't smell mousey.

Yup. Our steps went out and CW replaced the motor, gear box and control board. Got the MH back and spent over a full day trying to get rid of the thousands of ants nesting in the basement and bedroom (common issue with this CW location but never been this bad) and now my generator will not start (dead house batteries?) unless I start the engine first and give it a couple of minutes. Ran the genny for four hours yesterday but still no go this morning. Never ending issues.

There are milestones, for me they were (not in chronological order)
- Realizing that there are things which I can pay someone else to do faster (and sometimes cheaper) than I.
- Learning that it's more fun to have a beer with someone and talk about all the tech stuff than it is crawling under the coach with a grease gun.
- Watching the "to do" list grow and seeing some of the lines moving to the "done" list
- Realizing that the "to-do" list will never shrink to zero.
- Learning to change broken Monaco cabinet latches while my wife drives the coach.
- Raiding the refrigerator while the wife drives the coach.
- Having a beer with three or four people and talking about stuff we did to our coaches.

Was this about coach projects? Sorry if I hijacked the thread.

It not just motor homes. Travel trailers keep you busy.

But I will say for the MH, its averaging over 1 hours of maintenance or mods for each night under the stairs. I have not been broken down, I would like to think good PM has something to do with it.
