Dash A/C filter

I have an 06 Cayman. My question is, does the dash AC have a filter, and if so, where is it and how do you get to it.
I can find nothing in the owners manual.
Thanks in advance.

My 03 Windsor doesn't have a filter, and as far as I know, others don't either.

You can make one and put it behind the black grate in the picture right of center at the bottom, but it won't filter outside air, just inside on the max a/c setting. I took this picture when I had the dash removed so I could replace my blower motor.

My 99 Dynasty had a foam filter behind the inside grille and when I bought my Camelot, no such filter. Itís important if you have pets, to keep the hair from accumulating on the evaporator. I have no pets but just want to protect the evaporator. When in auto repair business I have saw one complete plugged with dog hair.

I bought small filter material at Home Depot, super glued the pieces end to end, and cut a few to fit. Since it is white, you can easily see when it is dirty.

Like Timaz said, this is for recirculating air only.

Great idea Harry, I'm doing the same thing.
My dash HVAC stays on max anyway.

Dash AC filter

Thanks to all that replied. I had suspicions that there was no filter, but yíall confirmed it. We donít travel with pets so not that big of a concern. I will try
Happycarz idea when I get some time.
Safe travels.

There are furnace filters a step better than fiberglass but not restrictive as foam or pleated I suppose they are polyester I have seen them at hardware stores. They are usually blue one side and white the other. We get huge rolls at work use on several vent intakes, spray booth and even window units. You could cut several out of one furnace filter.
