Defective Awning
The rear road side slide topper awning does not roll up anymore, spring appears to be broken. Does anyone have the part number of that Carefree awning on a 2004 34’ Holiday Rambler Ambassador? Thanks

Before looking and attempting to buy parts at prices that seem hard to believe, look at the left side of the awnings (your left side looking up at the awning) end cap to see if the center Allen head screw is still there. This screw is the center pivot for the awning tube and without it the spring return function will not work. Try this first before ordering parts.

Hugh.....Measure the length and call Carefree. If it has the gold casing, I would hang onto it. I don't think they offer that casing anymore, if you decide to replace the assembly.

Thanks for the inputs. Mike/Sharon - I'll check that set screw this morning. Don/Mary - I've talked to Carefree but they need the part number of the awning assembly in order to identify the spring mechanism. However, I'll measure the overall length and call them back.

Hugh....Shoot an email off to Monaco, with your coach number, and request your Recreational Veicle Data Card. They'll send it to you no charge. It has all of the products installed on your coach. Mine has the awning serial numbers, but not the model number. The serial number may work for Carefree.

Thanks Don/Mary - I e-mailed Monaco and they replyed with the data card information for my coach within an hour. I did not know that such a thing existed, great tip. Tomorrow I'll try to contact Carefree.
