Denso starter for DD Series 60

I searched as much as I could and saw a lot of discussion concerning Cummins, but couldn't find any info on anyone installing a Denso in a DD. Any info would be welcome. I am finding 2 different part numbers and have reached out to Denso but haven't received anything back yet. Thanks.

Post the part numbers you have. Maybe someone here with better research skills can tell you what the difference is.

The 2 numbers I have are 428000-4430 and 428000-5730. One has the motor on the top and one has the motor on the bottom. Just got some feedback from another sight and he recommended the 4430.

Glad you figured it out. Here's some comparison info - for anyone else that may be interested.

Note that they are both 10 teeth, but the gear diameter is different.

A little more research has me leaning more towards the 5730, as there are several references from Denso that the drain plugs must point down.https://www.irv2.com/forums/attachme...1&d=1641050195
