I just ordered one of these little gizmos to use on my motorcycle this winter: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000P23HZS

I used to have a very similar looking unit in combination with a solar panel for my airplane when it was tied down and I remember it working well for such a tiny thing.

I wonder how well it would work on house batteries (with the cables unhooked)? Seems like it would be worth a shot since I will have it anyway for the bike.
