diesel fuel

first diesel I have ever owned, filled with fuel last Nov. drove home 10 miles parked on slight incline toward fill neck, uncovered today and found fuel leaking out of fill neck. I probably lost gallon. Does diesel fuel expand that much or do I have a plugged vent? Thanks for the help.

It does expand. Especially from November to April. On a 100 plus gallon tank you are talking about 1%. I wouldn't worry about it.
You should if added an additive in November because diesel fuel can grow algae. Which I have had a problem with on the past. I have read that if your tank is full then it can't grow due to the lack of air. It's just something to be aware of if your rig sits more than 3 months.

Monaco diesel fuel tank caps are notorious for leaking and the cap should not leak. Overflow from expansion should come out the vent/overflow tube. I have had to make different gaskets to get mine to seal.
