Different axle??

My coach year is 2000.
When I was under the coach doing servicing I noticed a tag on the tag axle which was dated 17/1/02. Too bad Monaco doesn't give out history for the coaches so we would know a little about them...

I like your work area, Topman. Did you build this below floor pit yourself, or are you using a bus/truck service area to do your maintenance?

Also, do you loan out your work area to "buddies" who live in the South Surrey area ?

H. Miller..... I was hoping that Monaco would keep a record of any repairs or parts ordered from their factory. When I called them recently to ask questions about our coach, they did give me some information but some other stuff they said they wouldn't give me because of privacy issues.

Thanks "ahicks" for the info on the axles...

Re: Pit...
Yes I built the pit when I built the shop. I needed it when I was converting my first bus. There was no way I was going to crawl under an old bus to do work on it. I used it extensively when I swapped engines in my second bus. Now I use it basically for maintenance etc.
Sure, I do let others use it. At their own risk. The pit is 40 ft. long and 4 ft. deep so you can walk from front to rear. Very handy for brake adjusting etc...

Newmar had Spartan replace the 12,000# front axle on our DSDP in 2004 with a 14,600# one so it would carry a newer date and serial number. Since Spartan themselves did the work they have a record of it. Not sure Newmar would have it in theirs though.
