Diplomat living room slide won't retract

Tested motor and it works fine. Slide will not come back in. Replaced relays any other ideas?

Tested motor ? Were you supplying power directly to the motor with jumper cables and the slide didn't move?

Tested motor and it runs both ways. Reinstalled it and the slide went right on out with no binding or anything out of the ordinary. That was the initial issue. It would not go out. Now it won't come in

So you haven't supplied reverse power to the motor with the motor attached to the gear box. To check to see if the slide will move in.

I have tried that and it goes in and out by jumping leads at motor. I have also changed out the switch at the control panel

I don't know if Monaco uses the same switches and controls as Newmar.
Is the switch a push button , single acting switch that signals a control module, or is the switch controlling the reversing, by supplying power to the relays.
I helped a neighbor with broken mounts on his Diplomat slide gear box , but never got into the electrical controls.

For erratic operation , first it wouldn't go out; now the opposite; I'd be checking the ground wiring for that circuit board, if the grounds check out , then an examination of the circuit board with a magnifying glass is in order, looking for cracks in the solder lines or hot spots. Look for any area of discoloration.

If your slide wouldn't go out...and now won't come back in, then IMO, it's electric connections. Can you reverse the wires on the toggle switch and get the slide in?

If so (and if it now won't go out) wouldn't the switch be the culprit?

Without a know good unit for a test you can never be sure.
Any local RV repair shops that could bench test the control?

I have had similar issues on two different motorhomes. On one the "IN" relay was bad and looked fine. On the other the plug to the relay board was not seated completely.

If you have two slides with the same systems and relay boards try swapping the connectors (and possibly fuses) and use the other slides relay board and switch, I was able to do that on mine when the relay failed.
