Direct tv dvr sound

I just upgraded my Direct TV receiver to a DVR. When I use the TV speakers along with the surround speakers (or what ever they are called) there is a delay between the two which makes it impossible to use both. Never had this problem with the old receiver.

Any ideas?

Interesting, we don't have that problem with our Sony SS system. Do you have an option of plugging cables into different "sound-output jacks" on the back of your TV or changing to different "input jacks" on your SS processing unit? If so, you might try that.

Good luck

Latency

Assuming that you used the optical out from the DVR to get the sound to the surround system then yes, your best bet is to turn the TV volume all the way down.
