Disconnect door battery cutoff

How can I disable the battery cut off switch ? Some times when it is turned off doesnot want to turn back on . I have 2003 Diplomat Thanks in advance . Gary

On our '06 Dynasty we never operate the "salesman switch", which is a disconnect for much of the 12 volt coach systems. We do, however, open the battery disconnect switch in the battery compartment for both the coach and the chassis batteries when we store our coach for any length of time.

We learned that there are a number of 12 volt systems still powered with even the disconnect switch opened, and some of those systems can take our battery down faster than is acceptable for us. If the "salesman switch" were the only coach battery disconnecting means, I would definitely use it. And if it was giving my trouble, I would find the problem and fix it, so that I could continue to use that load shedding means.

Lots of folks talk about disabling them, but I would personally only do that if I had another means of removing most of the loads from the coach battery when storing the rig for any length of time.

Hopefully troubleshooting the rocker switch and the solenoid(s) that it operates shouldn't be too difficult. I hope it goes well for you.

Find the solenoid that is being controlled by the switch. Have someone toggle the switch while you listen carefully for the clunk. Once you locate it, simply move the wires from either large post onto one post.

Do a search for "salesman switch" and you should find pictures that will help.

You can easily disable the switch by removing the purple control wire from the Battery Cut-Off Solenoid that the switch activates.

However, that's NOT your biggest problem. The solenoid is failing and that's why it is acting like it is.

Most people including myself have bypassed this useless device to eliminate the solenoid completely.

I have included photos of my Battery Cut-Off Solenoid but yours maybe different.

You can see the purple wire wrapped around one of the large Red wires. I have since taped the end of the purple wire so it doesn't accidentally touch something.

Also, mine is located in the Rear Run Bay RRB.
