Door awning

Hello all. Went outside n found my door awning open. Hit the button n the motor is spinning but not movement. Looks to be the same style as the inside shades.

Anyone replace theirs with an aftermarket or Macgyver one. I found out after the fact a motor for the shades could be found for a 1/3 of the cost. Iím assuming itís a carefree like the big awning.

Thnx

Happened to me, and buddies, too. You need a new tube motor.

Thanks for the response, my motor is from France called I think Simu. Was yours a carefree or an oddball like mine. The carefree end on Amazon doesn’t look like mine, but it may have an adapter. Perhaps I’ll order it and see what I can do. Thnx

Simu Motors - Source One Distribution

You will find your motor here, good prices. Mine for the big Girard (24') was about $425 compared to Girard @ $1100 exact same motor. Takes a while to figure out the sizes etc. unless you have the number. BUT, it is there.

Greedo295, I just replaced my door awning motor with the same one Happycarz recommended. The new carefree end you are referring too is a much better rework of the problem gear that gets brittle and breaks with the original motor.
Hope this helps.

I had the same problem a few years ago on a 2007 Scepter, It was the plastic drive hub that the motor shaft fits into. I think the part was around $20 at the time.....Bruce
