Gonefishin - yes, we replaced ours for the same reason that you are now replacing yours. Also our hinges was screeching which was driving us nuts.
The original hinges could not be lubricated easy so we found some replacements where we could remove the pin. I have pull this out slightly on the photo.
We found the new hinges at Lowe's
and the cost was minimal. These hinges actually cover the old screw holes from the original hinges.
