Mike,

While you are doing this fix, you may want to add a flat washer so the fiberglass does not crack or split.

That's why I went with a washered head screw and increased the number of hold points. Thanks for the tip I'm always learning.

On the one we fixed, (passenger front), the washers are epoxied to the fiberglass. Helps spread the load so hopefully never cracks.

Also, I've stopped using self-tapping screws on fiberglass. The tap is too close to the same size as the threads and seems to wear and pull out.
