I am curious why you would want to remove the rubber tabs? They keep my soda cans from tipping over with hard braking, or big turns.

My cup holders are nothing more than Corian counter top with approx. 4" diameter with 1/2" deep indents. I place a bottle of water or tim hortons coffee in it and have never spilled a drop, curves, bumps, hard braking, whatever.

Maybe you need to slow down

Try this next time you take your rig out on the road.

1.Get a Big Gulp from 7-11 (or Super Big Gulp for better results)
2. Put it in your ½" deep drink holder.
3. Wait for the next yellow light you don't want to run, or that crazy "4 wheeler" that cuts in front of you.
4. Post your results here.

I did something similar except out of wood and I brought it flush to the top of the holder and then I put the hook side of velcro on it. Next I took a Ziploc Plastic Container about 5 x 8 inches square 4 inches deep put loop side of the velcro on the bottom. I stick it to the hook velcro and use it for holding snacks when heading down the road. Since I have two cup holders I use the snack holder in the center one and my drink in the one by the window.

Oh Yeah dmastroluca! Methinks most cup holders were designed by the folks who do custon carpet cleaning; they also promote the Big Gulp cups. More spills, more jobs! No big fountain cups in our rig!

A new drink holder..since my tablet will occupy the other spot. And no; there is plenty of space to not hit it getting in and out of the Captains seat.

I have to look in the owners manual every time. I will try to look it up tomorrow for you.

X2! Those original cup holders are only good for loose change, keys, screws, etc!
