Drivers side interior switch trim plate?
Hello All,
The previous owner of my 2008 40SKQ must have pressed down hard a few to many times on the break actuator breaking the trim panel the holds it, and all the switches, Air Brake actuator, info buttons, level pad...etc.. any ideas on how to replace it, or do I make my own.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Steve

I just changed mine out. Found an exact match. The material is easy to work with basic tools but took me about 4 hours to get all the cut outs just right. Lots of design and color choices and they will send you free samples to get an exact match.
I have a 45 degree bend right about in the middle of my panel. I ran a 1/16" router tip on the back side about 1/4 through the material. Then I clamped it and used a heat gun to gently heat and bend it to my needed angle.
I added a couple switches, and 'tweeked' a few items. I also added some reinforcing for the air brake plunger as that was the cause of mine cracking in the first place (probably a lot to do with age, also.)

Now that it's done, I'm glad I went this direction. I nearly went with aluminum and had it hydro-dipped, but the lead time was about 8 weeks.

A friend replaced the panel with wood, stained to fit the other trim pieces.
Could you glue the existing piece? You could use washers or a metal plate to reinforce the area around the air brake, or possibly move the air brake switch to a bracket outside the panel.
I hope this helps.

Check with NWRV Supply. They may have a matching panel.

I live in Gilbert & have a 07 Camelot -- I`ve replaced all the panels with 1/8th aluminum plate, then used a wrap -- If you drive up to Gilbert, I`ll show you what I did -- 480-540-7377 williampwillard@gmail.com Bill Willard

Aha: another "failure" of this "new technology"....spent almost a grand on a new phone, only to find out half of what I was told it could do doesn't rreally work unless you keep an "app guru" in my pocket....
