Drivers side slide won't come back in

I put the drivers slide out and now it wont come back in. I checked for power at the powergear 522176 connector and have battery voltage going both ways when using the switch. looked for motor brake release but don't see one. all it has is a black rubber cover tie wrapped on back of motor no lever. this motor looks brand new. looks like you would have to remove water tank to get this motor out hoping its just bound up. thanks for any help.

Do the wires come out from under the rubber cap?? If so still a bad design (cheap), I have replaced/repaired several of those. Cut the tie wrap and check the wires, if you're lucky just grounded/shorted out with wires pulled over a sharp edge. Unlucky...the motor is fried.

Good Luck!!!!

Turn batts off first, no sense in making sparks.

Exactly where is that connector? Is it on the motor leads or on the controller somewhere?

the motor has about a 12" pig tail. I unplugged the connector and checked for power from the switch. I had full battery power from the switch, in and out. what I cant find is the release. I tried to move the shaft with two crescent wrenches and it wont budge. the pictures I googled had a large brake release on the end of the motor. I do not have that. I have not removed the rubber boot on the end of the motor.

Can you post a picture of the motor?
Does the motor make any noise when you put power to it?

Have you made sure the bay doors are completely closed? If so, have you checked the switch to those doors?

pulled the motor today. I found it does have a brake on the end. it don't matter which way you switch it the motor is locked up. the black and red wires coming out of the motor are frayed and the motor smells burnt. the motor has a power gear sticker with 522176. it also has part number 13-1133. should I buy a new one or get this rebuilt? where would I get another one of these?

Try googling "power gear 522176". Apparently there is a replacement number.
I saw listings for NWrvsupply and a few others.

I went to two alternator/starter rebuild shops. they said these cant be rebuilt. has anyone here found a shop that will actually rebuild these. like I said the motor smells burnt and the wires are shorted out where they wrap up against the brake and come out of the rubber boot.
