Drivers Slide Hose Replacement

2004 dynasty 4 Just replaced a small hydraulic hose on the rear drivers slide cylinder. It goes into the next bay forward onto the floating or equalizing cylinder on the passenger slide. I used a coupler I bought to connect the two cooling fan thermostat lines. #ev894 #4 hydraulic.seems to be written on it, got it at napa, to pull the new line through. Dropping the two bay lids and installing was the hardest physical part of the job.

Lost very little fluid but my reservoir was low and with all slides out the cylinders wouldn't bleed properly. So , all hydraulics in, slide under the coach behind the steps and check the fluid first. Use dextron only. You'll need a small pump. Next, slide out the living room slide, take both rams loose buy removing the 15/16" nut on each one. Box end wrench. After routing and connecting the line run the rams in and out about five times to bleed the air. I don't know if I could have avoided this next mistake as I was alone. Don't let the rams push the slide out further by hitting the plates instead of entering the holes each time. A helper or two could align them with a screw driver as they extended. So I had to come-a-long the slide back in after the bleeding process. The stop plate a few inches in from the outside coach wall is very sturdy and it didn't take huge pressure to move. Attached are pictures, that hose leaked at both ends. Hose is Hwh part number, HWH02hp 180 # AP24651. Bought it from HWH. They are the best people I have dealt with in the entire rv industry. You missed a step! HWH has instructions to do this on their website. Can also call their tech support.
Need to also release the inboard end of the rams by removing the two nuts that secure each inboard mounting plate so the rams push back out of their tubes a couple inches when extended.
Cheers,
Walter

Thanks Walter, that would have saved me the trouble of pushing the slide out further. It was 7/8 of an inch in my case.
