Dumb question.

So, in most states you can't tow doubles, correct? Then why is it legal to tow a car with a dolly? That would be double towing. I was thinking that I could modify a dolly to also hold my trike motorcycle just by making it longer. I would sure like to take it and my Jeep with me.

Have neighbor who tows 2 wheeled wing and miata but the tongue weight is very heavy. I dont want to guess what a 1200 lb trike would make it.

I have a 4x4 gmc 4 door pickup and put the trike in back of truck with rampage lift that works very good and takes 5 min to load or unload.

Re-Towing a car on a dolly...

No, the car is considered CARGO and the dolly is the trailer.. or if you like the dolly is a "Converter Gear" and the car is the trailer.

Either definition works, but the car and dolly combo is only one trailer. Not two.

That said.. Unless there is no other choice, dolly is not the best way to tow.
