Dust Spots on Ceiling
Hey Guys,
Does anyone know where these dust spots on the ceiling are coming from? They seem to appear mostly around fixtures in the ceiling such as AC Vents, Lights, ect..... But as you can see in the photos they do appear on what seem like seams as well.

Cold spots in the ceiling where the insulation is broken. A little cold air can result in condensation, just enough for dirt to stick to, not enough to saturate the surface. See it in buildings constructed with metal studs all of the time.

Water is certainly causing the problem. My best guess is mold, but could be just staining from whatever the water picked up as it spread.

Hey Guys,
It's definitely not water per say. znt1186 May be on to something, but I can actually touch or rub it and the dust will transfer to my hand. It's definitely dust, I just can determine where it's coming from or getting in. Or if it's truly coming from inside the coach.

Bissel hand held spot carpet cleaner works great on that. Did my last coach ceiling, came out like new.

My coach has them too and I've been removing them with Oxyclean. Its not water leaking into the coach, but dust collecting in the seam between the roof panels.

Me too. Could it be the Ac intake... in the ceiling... sucking air through the seams?

My best guess is ac sucking air in through seams as well. Our roof mount in the living room does it. 30 year old seal worn out in ours. If your rig is new, shouldn't be doing it. Have it checked with a smoker unit. While the ac is running, does it suck smoke in along that line? You can test that yourself with an incense stick. Good luck and happy camping!

Are you using a spray bottle and spraying them and wiping? The Carpet cleaner idea is a good one too!

Do you think it is sucking air from out side or within the ceiling? Wondering if I could slow it down or eliminate it by resealing some of the seams on the roof or not? They all look good and do not leak.

Def leaking air between the roof and ceiling. Sucking air up through the crack into the space between the roof and ceiling causing the fabric ceiling cover to act as a filter. Check it with smoke to be sure it's sucking in, not blowing out. Either would be a seal around the unit itself.

This made me curious so I opened the front ac filter door and two corners of the frame welds have small voids allowing air to get sucked in from the ceiling area.

Open up the air filter compartment on your ceiling. Look inside and see if area is sealed up well between the ceiling and the air conditioner itself mounted on the roof. Any missing tape will allow air to be sucked into air conditioner from roof cavity. The ceiling cloth will act like a filter.
