Dutch Star Don, formerly "Diplomat Don"

Don, it's very good of you to continue posting on the Monaco site. I have followed your posts for a very long time, and they have been full of useful info. Nor have I ever known you to be rude or condescending to even a newbie. I especially like that.

Should anyone question whether you should remain on this forum, rest assured many of us grateful readers will set them straight. Thanks for all your help!

Agreed.

Hopefully, we don't have very many members who feel that one needs to own a particular piece of equipment in order to frequent a particular forum. Everyone is welcome to post in all forums here.

I agree. Don has been a great help on this forum. I'm anxious to see his comparison on ride and handling of his freight liner tag dutchstar compared to his 36 ft diplomat. It's obviously not apples to apples but good to see what one could possibly expect.

Okay.....did I miss something....did I get maligned somewhere?

We've only taken the new coach out once for a shake down trip over president's weekend. As usual, I've spent more hours doing mods on it than I've camped in it so far. Added: SaniCon, changed out dome sat to Winegard HD (dealer provided sat), shelves for the basement, swapped out microwave (dealer paid), waxed it once, changed tail pipes on hydronic unit and generator, and many more just to name a few.

The tag axle, bigger tires (05 had the 275/70 22.5) Smart drive and added length SURE makes it track nicely. I do miss the power of my Diplomat (engine fan and chip). Even though this is a 450 HP, it's 5K heavier and driving the side radiator with a driveshaft the size of my arm.

I got to where I knew where everything was at on the Diplomat. Newmar has hidden stuff all over the coach and I'm finding fuse panels and other serviceable items in odd places.

Lastly, I think Monaco has been one of the more popular coaches for years, with many more members on line doing their own work. I think Newmar and Tiffin sales will increase with the disappearance of entry and midlevel coaches by Monaco, but they don't have the same number of people on line doing their own work and mods.

And here all this time I thought you were a Diplomat for our country.

You would make a very good Diplomat!

Yep, Don's definitely one of the "good guys" on the forum!

P.S.- maybe if we lay it on really thick he'll stick around and continue to help us newbies to the Monaco world!

Looks like he is going to be busy doing mods to his new coach for a couple of years. deSanford

Your free to view Dons Mod section in QT's # 3 in Newmar forum may also be adaptable to your Monaco's as allot of the QT's info has been for people.
His posts are down near bottom after Max Hubrich Mod's section.
