Hi Veri; I have seen questions here in this forum about the Leece Neville not charging. Others here, along with myself, have posted back, have you checked the DUVAC fuse? Owners have found that fuse blown and replace the fuse and now the alternator is working like it should. In these cases I have read about, there have not been any responses back on why the fuse blew, but everything is now working like it should. Your header reads, DUVAC fuse keeps blowing! I see you have replaced the alternator twice. Do you have reasons for the other alternators biting the dust as replacing 2 of them, don't know what time period between replacements, seems to indicate there is another problem.

Sorry, at the moment this is all I can think of. Hope others here have a better idea than I do.

First one went out the new one wasn't charging so I assumed the alternator was bad out of the box got another one then found out the duvac fuse was blown and every time I install a fuse it blows it.

Hi again Verl; I think we both know from your description that there is a short somewhere over to the alternator or a connection is hooked up wrong. I am sorry I don't have a wiring diagram to send to you because I think you might need to to check all the routing for the wiring. Hope some others here read this and have a better read on this problem or have a wiring diagram. Might want to check the fuse holder with a multi-meter and see what kind of voltage readings you get.

Hi again Verl; On the way out to the mail box I stopped and opened my rear electrical bay door on my 01 Windsor. The 2 wires, one red the other white from the DUVAC fuse holder disappear into a harness so can't see where they go. On the outside cover for the DUVAC holder is printed 20. All others fuses in my compartment are printed on the cover 7.5. So did not pull cover off, but usually the printing on the cover is the fuse amperage for the fuse under the cover. I am sure your alternator is 160 amps like mine as it also is a Leece Neville/2428J. So, very interesting! Is the DUVAC fuse supposed to be 7.5 amps like you mentioned in your first post or is it 20 amps that is printed on the outside of the DUVAC holder on my 01 Windsor. I looked at your picture you posted and can't say where those wires go, sorry! Also can't say weather your coach should have a 20 amp fuse for the DUVAC. Sorry, can't say weather you should try a 20 amp fuse if the holder is marked DUVAV/7.5. Unless someone else comes along with better info, I can't say which way to go! Also not sure the 7.5 fuse you mentioned in your first post was for the alternator or some other component!

My chassis wiring diagram shows that the Duvac has a 20 amp fuse. It also shows that it goes to the "+" chassis battery post. From your picture it almost looks like it is going to the house bank.

Attached is a picture of the back of the alternator with the posts labeled and also a zoom shot of the alternator on my wiring diagram.

Here is my chassis wiring diagram but this is for a Roadmaster chassis. When you open it you need to hit CTRL5 to bring it into focus. Zoom needs to be +800 or better.

Do a search for Duvac and it will take you to the alternator and wiring.

Nothing I've done or found doesn't seem to fix the problem of the duvac blowing the fuse. Anyone else have any ideas why it would be doing this with a alternator less than a month old as I assumed the original alternator was bad.

Yes it was leece Neville 2824 and ordered the same through O'Reilly. I even thought the wire could have been a problem and ran a new one from the alternator to a 20amp fuse to the chassis batteries it blew just as fast like the original wire. So if you have any ideas where I can find the short I'm listening as I've checked everything I can find that may have caused the problem except pulling the alternator off and test it.
