Dyed Diesel

I just made a big booboo. My low fuel light came on, so I pull in to a truckstop, pumped 75 gallons of fuel into tank before I realized it was off-road diesel. My coach is a 2013 knight with a Maxxforce 10 engine, is this going to damage the DPF or other components? Any suggestions?

No worries. The only difference is the colour and the taxes

Keep your receipt. Dye shouldn't hurt anything but call the manufacturer to be sure. Dye is only there for revenue purposes. It will take many gallons of regular fuel to get the red out.

As long as it's Ultra Low Sulphur Diesel your good to go, the color won;t matter, if it's Low Sulphut Diesel I would have the tank drained, cause that will plug up the DPF and put your coach into limp mode in a hurry

That can take many, many gallons. If you are caught by the revenue dept, they CAN charge you with road tax on every gallon(based on odometer miles) you have bought along with up to a $10,000.00 penalty. Careful with who you broadcast this to i.e. the internet.

Off road fuel is the same as road fuel except for dye and taxes. Your chance of having your tank checked is somewhere between slim and none. Just keep driving. I ran my OTR trucks thousands of miles and never had one checked.

Let's not go down the taxes issue road, folks. Stick to the OP's question.
