Dynasty entry door

My door on my 2000' Dynasty doesn't lock in the open position, like my 96' Windsor did. Isn't it supposed lock in the open position, where you need to activate the door handle to close it?

Our mid 90s monaco coaches had doors supplied by an outside supplier. I regret that I do not remember the supplier name, if indeed I ever knew. Later, probably around 2000, Monaco decided to make their own doors. They were arguably not as good, but it's the way it is. I think the Monaco built door relies on the scissor on the top of the door to 'lock' the door in the open position. Those owning the newer coaches will know better than I.

Monaco doors

P.T.L made the earlier doors and still have the parts to repair them. They have the locking mechanism built in.
