Dynasty onboard air compressor
I purchased a 2009 Dynasty a few weeks back. The onboard air compressor was loud and rattily. So I climbed under the coach and found it behind the front driver side wheel. The unit is a Viair 330C-IG. This doesn't look like the original unit. Does anyone know the correct unit that should be on board?

The HWH air systems use the Thomas air compressor # 405ADC38-12. It is very quiet compared to the Viair, but some of the Viair pumps have a higher output. You can usually find the Thomas pump on eBay or purchase it from HWH.
Your 2009 Dynasty should have a Valid leveling system. From the pictures, it looks like Valid is also using a similar Thomas air compressor.

I had the Thomas compressor in my 2000 Monaco but it didn't work . I replaced it with the Viair 250C-IG which cost less than a Thomas and seemed like a better compressor. It doesn't seem too loud but I never heard the Thomas run. The Viair is also a sealed compressor and the Thomas is not. Mine is installed under the coach near the front axle and is exposed to road splash. Not sure why Monaco put it there. Would be nicer in one of the bays. Also the Viair 250C-IG draws 11 amps and I think the one you have draws 16 amps. The Thomas was rated at 10.5 amps and fused at 15 amps. I didn't want to run new wiring. One more thing, I think the Thomas is only rated at 100 psi and the Viairs are rated at 150 psi.

The Thomas pump is the one used in dentist offices. It's extremely quiet.
But Jeff makes a very good point. If you rebuild the 6 packs and fix all the fitting leaks the pump will almost never run.

I used a Firestone 9285, much more bang for the buck.

Thank you all for your input. I am thinking of installing a switch on the dash to shut it off in the night and fix the leaks. This compressor turns on about every 2 hours. If I park on a fairly level spot at night will the coach stay level if it does not have air?

If you shut off the auto level on your panel the compressor should not come on.

^^2X^^
I had Elkhart Sales and Service replace mine with a Thomas compressor. The old noisy original one was leaking air back thru the intake side of the compressor. What a difference!

I replaced the air pump on mine with the Firestone. Worked great and was way cheaper than what Valid wanted for a new pump. My coach will stay level for several days. All of a sudden the new pump would run for a second than shut down. There is a problem with the pump I believe, the thermal cutout is shutting it down after that second. Not sure if I got a bad pump or what. On the road right now and can't deal with the problem. They are noisy, but this Firestone is much quieter than the original, which is why the fuse is pulled and laying in the bottom of the FRB. These systems are a pain when not working right. Fix the leaks and make sure the pressure switch is plumbed in the right spot, mine wasn't, which was common with Monaco.
