Dynasty - Propane Regulator

Our 06 Dynasty appears to have a leak from the propane regulator - turned gas on at tank for the first time and heard/smelled gas leak. They have a lovely cover over the regulator so I could get part number or manufacture.

Did Monaco use the same regulator in all these coaches? Anyone know which one it might be?

The coach is in storage 1.5 hours from us & I’d like to have the part in hand when I pick up the coach.

Thanks

I replaced our LP gas regulator early this year. Ours was leaking and was plugged with oil. When you replace the regulator check the hose that goes to the tank. Ours was leaking.
It's a Marshall Excelsior (MEGR-298) Excela-Flo Two-Stage Compact Regulator.
They are $32 on Amazon.

Same here, I started to smell propane walking past the coach. Replaced it the two stage Marshal.

Nothing special about the propane regulators used by different brands of RV's.

They are two stage. Only difference (IMPORTANT DIFFERENCE) is that the vent (screened area) must point DOWN.

So, if regulator installed vertically, the vent is no the long axis of the regulator. If installed horizontally, it is perpendicular to the long axis.

Both are the same price.

I would do more investigations from what you describe unless your positive it's the regulator leaking. The packing at valve can leak and be also be tightened. Mine had slight wisp I was able to tighten packing nut a bit at a time. Then tested and broke the packing back in by running valve in and out many times. If I remember nut was left hand threads. LP valve has back seat to seal it tight in full open position as it should be full open or full closed and not rely on packing alone,. Even so the valve stem packing shouldn't leak. Owners have had hose become cracked and leak right after the regulator, not every coach has this hose and are hard piped.
