Angry Dynasty wont start

I have a 1999 Monaco Dynasty with a 350 Cummins ISC engine. Wife and I started down the highway and it quit. Wont start. I have installed new fuel filters, ecm and lift pump. Have the injector pump out to be checked now. Checked all fuses and power to injector pump. Has fuel to injectors by cracking lines. I have a heavy equipment construction co. so I am very informed on diesel engines. I am stumped!!! Any ideas? Cummins says electrical problem, Monaco says Cummins problem. It wants to start but wont. Smokes from muffler like it is trying.

Help if you can.

Thanks Jim

It's got to be the fuel shut off switch or solenoid.

Sorry, I'm not familiar with the design of it on your engine. On my older C8.3, it's an external solenoid that activates the shut off lever on the side of the fuel pump.

Somebody with the same engine as yours has to be able to tell you where it's located.

Jim I had the same thing happen on a 2000 Dyn 350 it turned out to be the Injection control valve assembly ( about $ 500 or 600 bucks). Did it throw a code?

Warning Light? Stop Light? Is this a CAPS injection system? Common fail item is oil pressure sender to ECM. Cummins has a fix. Cam position sensors? There are two.

Well maybe good news from pump rebuilder. Broken shaft in rear of pump. New one from Cummins and testing to take place. Hope this fixes it. Thanks for all the info you people have given me. It helps to define some of the causes of not starting.

Thanks again, Jim

Smile Dynasty wont start

Well some good news. The caps pump was broke. Very costley but is running again. Take good care of your pump and filters because it is a tough job to change this pump.
Thanks again for all the help.

Jim
