Elect Step Cover Not Working Fully

o6 Endeavor, step cover moves about 1/3 of the way out and stops. I can pull it out the rest of the way with no resistance. Same with retacting. Once cover is fully out it will not pop up into place. Not easy to see inside without removing the retractable step cover. Cover sounds very loose but think what ever controls the movement has come loose or something. Any ideas before I start ripping apart?????

Thanks
Ed

Mine did that (on my '08 Cayman) when one of the kids thought it would be cool to ride the step cover while it was in motion. Under the cover are two pins that connect the drive mechanism to the cover. They had come undone on both sides. You are right - the connections are hard to get to, especially the one on the forward side of the coach. You need to be a bit of a contortionist to get to the forward pin as it is all of the way back under the cover. But it can be done. Hope this helps. The pins snap into a hole in the drive mechanism. It will be obvious where they should fit once you can see them.

Hooter,

You are right, that is what the problem was. Thanks a bunch for posting your reply, saved me $$$ at the rv dealer and only took about 15 min to fix. Hope I can return the favor some day.
