EMC Common rail

Hi my EMC has stopped to send any power to my liftpump and you can' t connect to it so it has to be replaced. It has already been replaced in sept last year and then it did'nt start because something wrong with the communication between the EMC and the injectors. Is it normal that the EMC crash so fast or can it be something in the motorhome who makes the ECM to crash?

Could you provide a few more details? What make, year of engine? Who did the diagnosis? On many newer engines the best people to work on it are the manufacturer's shops. They have the proper diagnosis equipment and probably the experience to figure out the problem pretty quickly. In the long run it will likely save money and time over trying to do it yourself.

Most ECU's dont power anything, they provide a ground circuit for the device, look at the wires going to the ecu, they are all small wires that cannot carry any amperage. Now with that ,look for a relay that powers the lift oump,or if there is no communication on the diagnostic plug look for ecu power relay somewhere. If you hoogle cummins 7pin or 9pin diagnostic plug you will have the pin configuration fr what 2 pins are power and ground.
ECU's generally dont go bad.
Also when posting need year, make, and engine

The ecu is generally mounted on the passenger side of the engine block, look for wires that have been chewed or worn from vibration. Disnect the chassis batteries, remove the 3 connectors on the ecu look at the pins on the ecu and look closely at the pins on the ecu harness. Again google what data conector you have in the front run bay or look under the dash should be a grey diagnostic connector with 7 or 9 pins and check for power snd ground on thst connector after you have hooked up the chassis batteries. Check all fuses in the battery compartment they are the ones mounted on the side wall with black plastic caps over them check for any inline fuses in the engine compartment they are usually tie wrapped to other components.

Hi everyone
It come a guy from a cummins dealer and tried in 7,5 hours to find what was wrong when it did not start but cranked. He found out that the ECM did not give any power to several pins. Among them the pin who gave power to the liftpump. And it was impossible to connect to it. He took away the ECM and said it has to be replaced. If I put in a new one and want to be sure it don't crash again what cables can cause that the ECM crash. As I said before this is the second one since sept 2015
Have to point out that the rv has only 20.000 miles.
