Engine hatch struts
Our 08 Dnasty needs new struts for the engine hatch. I was surprised that they do not appear to be HD, There are no numbers on the cylinders. The Dynasty uses a cantilevered mechanism. Any help appreciated.

mine happen to be MasterLift brand
model # ML26-160 (length-#force) Not sure if dynasty and windsors have same or similar hatch design/weights, but it's a starting point for you.

Usually #s are painted on. Try snap some pics underside. Have you improved to better heavier mattress . My engine/ bed hatch is really heavy . The mattress was home one . I bought new HD 250lb struts . They were stronger than the old ones. I should of got 300lb.
Suspa are really good brand OEM on many autos. You can get a good priced on Amazon. I used all around the rest of coach. But we're not available in 250-300 with 13mm balls.

I am not working on the Bed!!!! It is the engine bay hatch! No matkings on the struts. Yhey do not appear to be 100+ struts. I will measure and post the dimensions,

Duh my bad my brain went to my bed struts I guess I see way more engine under there. Not sure of yours these are mine per tag 127 lbs. Somewhere around 130-160 the flatter the angle to more powerful you need. If your say 40 lb over on pair it's not going to take 40 lbs extra to push it down. Just like it wouldn't take 260 lbs to like my hatch with no struts. Hopefully someone with same year and model will have one with a tag. The length is easy.

I hope the photos are attached. I measured the struts as there are no markings. 22.25 overall. Inner shaft is 10 inches. Inner dia .35. Outer tube is .73. I guess I am wrong about the force. I just thought that a small diameter cylinder would have a low force. I have not found any Monaco postings with a similar size. I think the Windsor ones are 27 inches long. You can see the large cantelever in one of the photos. Does the Windsor have a similar system?

That looks just like mine. But your overall measurement of 22.5 strut is shorter than mine.
Is that hatch in your picture as far up as it will go? Mine goes much further up.

It does go further up but the struts are too weak. For almost a year I have been visegripping the mechanism when I am working under the hatch. Talk about a a backyard fix. Shame on me. I did find the Stabilus strut 752991 wqs the correct part. Hrad to get. There used to be ab unch of sellers on both Ebay and Amazon that had crosssover charts. Not anymore. But I did find this one.

Lift support depot has search spread sheet I chose 120-160 then they progressively list in length . I forgot to use 10mm ball only

Block it up. Then measure the actual distance. 160# is very normal. Compress the new ones with a ratchet strap to the length desired, then they will simply pop right on. Put the cylinders at the edge of the strap so the strap is not in the way.
