Entry Door

We purchased our 2007 Cayman XL this past October and the "To Do" list is almost finished thanks to the great advice we get from this forum!

The last big item on the list is the entry door. It does not seal at the top (starts at the outside corner - protrudes about 3/4 of an inch and gradually goes in). The hinges (pins holding the hinges together) are not straight. My guess is the door was caught by the wind when the previous owner had it. The bottom of the door seals fine.

We took the coach to Camping World and they said to to put in a new door seal. My concern is that water pours in through the top of the door when it rains and not to sure a new seal will fix it with the gap at the top of the door. Is there any way to adjust the door so it seals and opens easily?

Have you tried twisting the door straight,if it's bent there's no other way.hold the bottom out while pushing in on the top.It also sounds like the beginning of another CW bashing.

Sounds like the hinges are bent, can you take the hinges off and straighten them out. Most doors are pretty easy to bend, I've adjusted a few Peterbilt doors with a 2x4 and a swift push here and a pull there.

Entry Door

Finally got the entry door fixed. Turns out the top striker bar was screwed in to far and the door latch was catching and not allowing the door to close. Adjusted the bar and the door works pretty well. Has not rained yet but the door seems to seal ok.

Thanks so much for the advice. This is a great site! Frank and Jeannie

This stuff works well, a little pricy but I installed it a few years ago above a door and it worked well. Essential Products RV & Marine - EZE Marine Gutters
