My coach came with TRI-MARK locks... The pot metal they use can and does fail.

On the entry door, it is very hard to override the snap bolt (The dead bolt thankfully I had not locked) but if you are really good you can work a thin tool into the latch and "Card" the lock..

What is carding?

This is where you work a thin flexible piece of plastic usually, often a credit card, or a membership card, into the latch so it depresses the bolt.

Two problems with that on the Tri-Mark lock.. one the door opens out, this makes it harder to card since the card would need to be inserted from inside.

Second there are striker bolts there that prevent a card from being used.

I was able to use a "Bent pick" (90 degree) this is a tool used to pick oil seals out of transmissions and engine blocks and for other jobs like this.. It was able to sneak in and depress the bolt releasing the door

Then I replaced the )(*@)#*$)@!(# THING.

Please don't laugh yet but the roof vent is an access to the interior. This is how thieves break in at the storage lots. Calculate the cost of a roof vent cover versus damaging the entry door. My son was lowered in, back in the day, and opened the door. If door won't open,,try a window! Let us know how this turned out!

Last month I posted a message, (#16), on how I got in. The locksmith got in thru a horizontal sliding window, and then was able to open the door from the inside.

Roof vent? I don't think I could get in thru one, but a woman or child could. Interesting...
